The Mission
Sound Affects music programming connects professional musicians with underserved adults living in care facilities or at home. Through live performance, one-on-one residencies, and advocacy, Sound Affects meets the needs of those who are prone to isolation and who cannot access public music in the ways that they wish.
Sound Affects is an evolving platform for both underserved adults and musicians to use music to engage in their larger community and to experience mutual and lifelong esteem.
The Values
QUALITY
All people should have access to great music made by great musicians
QUANTITY
All people should be able to hear and see music as often as they want to
VARIETY
Experiencing different kinds of music through different avenues improves wellbeing
PERSONALIZATION
People are individuals with individual histories and the ways in which we enjoy music are unique

Sound Affects is A GRASSROOTS EFFORT! Professional musicians, care facility residents, senior living staff, community partners, volunteers, and donors all are crucial members of the project.
