Music-Based Nonprofit Holds 4th Annual “Sound It Out” Benefit Show to Support Older Adults in Long-Term Care Facilities

For the fourth year, Fort Collins-based nonprofit, Sound Affects, will celebrate its programs and seek new public support by holding a benefit performance at Odell Brewing Company, this time featuring the music of The Patti Fiasco. On August 27th, 2024, Sound Affects will welcome its community to learn about the powerful impact music can have on populations of isolated adults and long term care facility residents who can no longer access and experience live music without external support.
The Patti Fiasco is a five-piece band fronted by powerhouse Alysia Kraft, well known in Colorado for her brash, yet fiercely emotional performing and her inspired songwriting. Joined by a full band including founders Ansel Foxley and Dee Tyler, the group delivers a blend of rock, country, and americana that bends genres in one of the most relatable performances to come across Colorado. Alysia has worked as one of Sound Affects’ core musicians, delivering connection to isolated care residents through enlivening concerts and personalized music for room-bound and bed-bound adults in seemingly unreachable spaces. Her and The Patti Fiasco’s ethos perfectly demonstrate live music’s ability to bridge gaps between regions, communities, and generations.
Sound It Out 2024 will be an all-ages fundraiser for Sound Affects showcasing an evening of music by The Patti Fiasco, work from Sound Affects’s programs, a local food truck, and a complimentary Odell beer or wine with each ticket purchase. VIP experience tickets include a front row table with table-service. All proceeds from the event contribute to the continued funding of Sound Affects' mission, creating a lasting impact on the community.
“Sound Affects is a bridge between isolated elders and their local creative communities,” says Hanna Doreen Brown, Sound Affects’ Executive Director. “We work together with Colorado care facilities, professional musicians, and our larger network to highlight the ways in which quality music forms meaningful relationships, especially for those who have become separated by age and other marginalization.”
Tickets to Sound It Out 2024 are $15 in advance, $18 day of the event, or $50 for VIP package and can be purchased online at https://sounditout2024.eventbrite.com
